The Network Administrator is responsible for administering and supporting the organization's enterprise network infrastructure across on premises, cloud, and SD WAN environments. This includes daily administration of Juniper EX series switching, Mist cloud managed wireless, Fortinet firewalls, and SD WAN solutions. This role ensures secure, resilient, and compliant network operations aligned with NIST 800 171 and CMMC Level 2. The Network Administrator supports CGS’s mission by maintaining high availability network services, troubleshooting complex issues, and contributing to modernization initiatives across the Digital Solutions department.
Network Operations & Administration• Administer and maintain Juniper EX4100 F switches, including VLANs, trunking, routing fundamentals, STP, LLDP, and QoS.• Manage and monitor Mist cloud dashboards for wireless and wired assurance, client analytics, policy application, and performance insights.• Maintain and administer Fortinet FortiGate firewalls, including security policies, VPN configuration, IPS/IDS tuning, segmentation, and logging integrations.• Monitor and maintain network performance and availability using Mist AI, FortiAnalyzer/FortiManager, SolarWinds, and other diagnostic tools• Provide Tier II/III support for routing, switching, wireless, firewall, and VPN issues.Security, Compliance, & Boundary Protection• Implement and maintain network related security controls as required under NIST 800 171 Rev 2 and CMMC Level 2.• Support CGS SSP technical requirements including boundary protection, access control, audit/logging, and configuration management.• Ensure all network systems follow secure baselines and change control processes.• Assist Cybersecurity with audit readiness activities, evidence collection, vulnerability remediation, and incident response.Documentation & Change Management• Maintain accurate and comprehensive network diagrams, inventories, configurations, and runbooks.• Participate in Change Advisory Board (CAB) reviews and execute approved changes in accordance with organizational change control guidelines.• Document troubleshooting steps, fixes, processes, and SOP updates to support operational excellence.Cross-Team & Site Support• Work with Digital Solutions staff and CGS site personnel to support network operations at contract locations, including DOD sites.• Provide clear communication and support to internal customers and partner teams.• Offer guidance to junior staff where appropriate, escalating to Network Engineer and other SMEs as needed.
Mandatory• Associate’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Networking, related field OR equivalent work experience• 3-5 years of hands-on experience administering enterprise network environments.• Experience with Juniper EX series switching and Mist cloud managed wireless platforms.• Experience administering FortiGate firewalls (policies, VPNs, logging, segmentation).• Familiarity with SD WAN technologies.• Experience operating in compliance with NIST 800 171 and CMMC Level 2.• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, OSI layers 1 4, BGP/OSPF basics, and enterprise network troubleshooting• Ability to communicate clearly and work collaboratively across teams.• CompTIA Sec+ or similar DoD 8140 - (451) Intermediate certification or ability to attain one within 90 days of hire.• Ability to gain access to US DOD Sites & Facilities• 10-15% TravelPreferred• Juniper certifications (JNCIA, JNCIS).• Fortinet NSE certifications.• Experience with scripting or automation (Python, Ansible).• Experience with cloud networking in Azure or AWS.• Experience with TeamDynamix or other ITSM platforms• Experience with DevOps, Agile, ITIL

Accountable For:• Maintaining stable and secure operation of Juniper EX series switches, Mist Wi Fi, Fortinet firewalls, and SD WAN infrastructure.• Ensuring all network operations and configurations comply with NIST 800 171 Rev 2 and CMMC Level 2 requirements.• Maintaining and enforcing boundary protection rules, logging pipelines, and monitoring systems as defined in CGS’s SSP.• Timely resolution of escalated network issues and high quality customer service.• Maintaining accurate network documentation and participating in modernization efforts.• Supporting reliable network connectivity and performance across CGS enterprise and contract sites.• Analyze data and develop logical solutions to complex computer, application, network, and telecommunications problems.• Read, interpret, and apply knowledge gained from complex technical publications, manuals, and other documents.• Administer highly complex information systems and applications.• Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.• Establish and maintain professional working relationships with internal and external customers.
