This SkillBridge program provides transitioning service members with hands-on training in a commercial aviation Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) environment. Participants work alongside experienced technicians while learning aviation maintenance procedures, safety practices, and regulatory compliance used in the civilian aviation industry.Phase 1 – Orientation & Safety (Weeks 1–2)• Hangar safety procedures and OSHA standards• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)• Foreign Object Debris (FOD) prevention• Tool control programs• Aircraft maintenance documentation systemsPhase 2 – Systems Familiarization (Weeks 3–6)• Aircraft systems overview• Aircraft inspection procedures• Maintenance manuals and technical documentation• Basic component removal and installationPhase 3 – Maintenance Operations (Weeks 7–16)• Scheduled aircraft inspections• Aircraft servicing procedures• Component removal and installation• Maintenance documentation and work cardsPhase 4 – Advanced Training & Workforce Integration (Weeks 17–24)• Aircraft system diagnostics• Maintenance workflow coordination• Quality and safety compliance• Exposure to supervisory or advanced technical responsibilitiesExpected OutcomesParticipants will develop operational leadership skills required for supervisory roles within commercial aviation maintenance operations.
