This program offers the skills needed to start a career in the Facilities Maintenance field. To be successful in a profession the tradesman must understand their craft inside and out. During your program, you will have the opportunity to earn multiple nationally recognized certifications that will enhance your ability to operate in the industry: -EPA 608 Universal, North American Technician Excellence Ready to Work, and OSHA-10 Certification. As you go through the program you will validate your education by performing hands on assessments designed to prove understanding and practical problem-solving skills needed to be successful in the industry. You will be trained to properly apply safety protocols and PPE applications needed to safely practice the trade. You will also experience the professional conduct, clean appearance, and customer service-based training needed to gain trust and rapport customers expect and value.

Maintain and repair machines, mechanical equipment, and buildingsFix or replace faulty electrical switches, outlets, and circuit breakersInspect and diagnose problems and figure out the best way to correct themPerform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothlyAssemble and set up machinery or equipmentPlan repair work using blueprints or diagramsDo general cleaning and upkeep of buildings and propertiesOrder supplies from catalogs and storeroomsMeet with clients to estimate repairs and costsKeep detailed records of their work

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain and repair machines, mechanical equipment, and buildings
  • Fix or replace faulty electrical switches, outlets, and circuit breakers
  • Inspect and diagnose problems and figure out the best way to correct them
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly
  • Assemble and set up machinery or equipment

  • Order supplies from catalogs and storerooms
  • Meet with clients to estimate repairs and costs
  • Keep detailed records of their work
