Commercial Truck Driving

The Commercial Truck Driving certificate program provides basic training in the principles and skills of commercial truck operations. The program is based on the definition of a truck driver as one who operates a commercial motor vehicle of all different sizes and descriptions of all types of roads. At the completion of the program, the student is administered the Georgia CDL Skills Exam.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate a commercial motor vehicle of all different sizes and descriptions on all types of roads.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must have satisfactory MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) report
• Must pass a DOT (Department of Transportation) physical
• Must pass a DOT drug screen
• Must obtain an AP (Albany Technical College specific requirement) permit before entering program

ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY

Must have satisfactory MVR report, DOT physical, DOT drug screen, and obtain an AP permit before entering program.

Financial aid may cover the cost of tuition.Student fees $370 for AP permit, MVR report, DOT physical and drug screen, ATC application fee and fuel charge.
