US-ASEAN BUSINESS COUNCIL
THE US ASEAN BUSINESS COUNCIL IS LOOKING TO WORK WITH AN OFFICER WHO CAN HELP US GROW OUR AEROSPACE AND DEFENSE INDUSTRY PORTFOLIO THROUGH A BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF THE NEEDS OF THE REGION AND CAPABILITIES OF EACH COUNTRYS MILITARY FORCES. THE INDIVIDUAL WILL WORK WITH OUR MEMBERSHIP, FINANCE, OPERATIONS AND EXECUTIVE DEPARTMENTS AND INTERFACE WITH OUR AEROSPACE AND DEFENSE MEMBERS AS WELL AS VISITING HIGH LEVEL ASEAN GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS. THROUGH THESE CONTACTS THE PARTICIPANTS WILL HELP THE COUNCIL TO DEVELOP A STRATEGY THAT BETTER TARGETS OUR RESOURCES AND PROGRAMS. IT MAY BE POSSIBLE TO PUBLISH RESEARCH ARTICLES AND INNOVATION IN THIS INDUSTRY.
ABOUT THE JOB
PROJECT MANAGEMENT, FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT, OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT, MEMBERSHIP DIRECTOR, COUNTRY ANALYST
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with membership, finance, operations, and executive departments
- Interface with aerospace and defense members
- Visit high level ASEAN government officials
- Develop a strategy that targets council resources and programs effectively
- Possibly publish research articles and innovations in the aerospace and defense industry
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in project management, financial management, operations management
- Experience as a membership director or country analyst
- Prior work experience in an embassy within the ASEAN area of operation
- Familiarity with the defense needs of the ASEAN region
ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY
THE INTERNSHIP IS A SIX-MONTH WORK EXPERIENCE FOR AN OFFICER WHO HAS SERVED IN AN EMBASSY WITHIN THE ASEAN AREA OF OPERATION (ONE OF TEN COUNTRIES) IN EITHER THE ODC OR DAO AND IS FAMILIAR WITH THE DEFENSE NEEDS OF THE REGION.
