The Civic Engagement & Legislative Advocacy SkillBridge internship provides transitioning service members with hands-on experience in nonprofit government relations, stakeholder engagement, and legislative advocacy. Participants develop professional skills in relationship management, policy tracking, CRM systems, strategic communications, and project coordination while supporting Washington Autism Alliance's mission to improve services and outcomes for individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities.
The Civic Engagement Associate SkillBridge Intern supports legislative advocacy and community engagement initiatives by building relationships with advocacy partners, managing constituent outreach, tracking legislation, maintaining CRM records, preparing reports, and assisting with strategic advocacy efforts. Throughout the internship, participants receive structured mentorship while progressively taking ownership of advocacy projects and stakeholder engagement activities.
