Family-owned airline operating cargo and passenger flights seeks an FAA-licensed Dispatcher to support Sierra West Airlines and our sister Part 125 operation. This safety-first role ensures FAR/FAA compliance while releasing and tracking flights, recording OUT/OFF/ON/IN times, coordinating with Operations/Maintenance (including MEL/CDL), monitoring weather/NOTAMs, and communicating status across the team.
• FAA-licensed Aircraft Dispatcher responsible for dispatch/ops control functions and flight following for Part 135 cargo/passenger and Part 125 operations. • Ensure all flights are released in compliance with the FAA rules and regulations and FAR’s.• Record Crewmembers flight time in compliance with the company’s crew scheduling procedures to ensure that each flight has a legal crew available to complete all flight operations for all flight segments.• Coordinate with the Operations and Maintenance to ensure the aircraft status will permit the intended operation to be conducted safely and in accordance with applicable Minimum Equipment List/Configuration Deviation List items (MEL/CDL) limitations/restrictions at the scheduled departure time.• Coordinate and ensure that all, ground handling, deicing, fuel, landing/departure slots, and international handling, customs, landing/over-flight permits are in order before releasing a flight.• Collect, discuss and review weather and aeronautical information to help assist in aircraft/pilot dispatch.• Track all flights released and update company personnel as necessary.• All flight times OUT/OFF and ON/IN times will be recorded on every flight.• Advise the appropriate personnel of potential or actual delays or problems• Provide operational data and reports to personnel as necessary• Other duties as assigned
• FAA Dispatch License• Proficient computer skills• Detail oriented• Self-Starter• Must be able to multi-task• Excellent verbal and written communication• Must be willing to have a flexible schedule to include working nights and weekends• Remote Work & Onsite Training-Minimum 90 days of onsite training in Oakdale, CA is required. Remote eligibility is determined individually based on demonstrated proficiency and operational readiness. Anticipated timeline based on experience will be discussed during the interview process. Most trainees transition to remote work after a period of onsite training; the length varies based on prior experience (including military exposure to dispatch/ops), pace of skill acquisition, and the trainee’s ability to retain procedures and consistently perform to established standards. Readiness is assessed by meeting performance milestones rather than a fixed timeline.
Temporary crew housing may be available for non-local candidates during initial onsite training to support relocation and acclimation (subject to availability and program guidelines). Specific availability, duration, and eligibility are discussed during the interview and confirmed in writing prior to start.
