Generator Repair and Maintenance Technician
POSITION SUMMARY:Under general supervision, the Generator Technician performs a variety of skilled andtechnical tasks in the inspection, repair, preventive, and corrective maintenance andmodification on Internal Combustion (IC) engines, diesel generators, and other IC gaseousengines; tests, replaces or adjusts engine components such as valves, pistons, bearings,emissions systems, and other related systems; and, interprets schematic wiring and modifiesdiesel control circuits.Generator Maintenance: Perform preventive and correctivemaintenance on AutomaticTransfer Switches (ATS) andannunciator panels.Perform load testing on units toidentify possible problems andprevent wet stacking.Make electrical and mechanicalwiring modifications to dieselcontrol circuits.Rebuild and repair gaskets, seals,water pumps, catalytic converters,torque heads, belts and hoses.Conduct automatic and manualtransfer tests of simulated poweroutages to ensure generators arefunctioning properly.Test batteries, fuel coolant, and oil;ship oil samples for analysis.Transport and dispose hazardousmaterials.And other duties as assigned.·
Must be 25 or older; good driving record; pass drug screen; 7-year background check; eligible for DOT Medical Card; live within 60 miles of stated location; willing to travel within the market; able to lift 50 lbs; computer literate Windows based environment preferred.
