C2360 Fleet Maintenance and Radiological Support Division (FMRSD)
The Fleet Maintenance and Radiological Support Division (FMRSD), Code 2360, is part of the Nuclear Engineering and Planning Department, Code 2300, Norfolk Naval Shipyard (NNSY), Portsmouth, Virginia. The division provides radiological and nuclear maintenance training and engineering support to operational Fleet assets. Further, it develops and maintains Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program (NNPP) corporate radiological and nuclear trade skills training materials used by maintenance activities, Prototypes, Laboratories, and the Fleet.
ABOUT THE JOB
Job Title: Nuclear Engineering Technician, GS-09 through GS-12Job Description/Availability in Branch: 2360.1/.2/.3/.5/.6Depending on which Branch, duties may include:-provide highly effective training and engineering support to Fleet personnel for nuclear and propulsion plant maintenance planning and execution. Serves as a lead Subject Matter Expert (SME) in curriculum of QAOC and RCMC.-support the development of technical production and radiological training programs for corporate activities and provide technical guidance and support to lower-level employees in the performance of corporate training analysis, design, development, delivery and evaluation.-provide highly effective radiological engineering project support and detailed theoretical and practical training for the Corporate Radiological and Nuclear Training Branch and its customers.-provide highly effective training and engineering support to Fleet personnel for nuclear and propulsion plant maintenance planning and execution. Serves as a lead SME in curriculum of NPPPC, FMANPC, and CVNMC.-serve as a lead SME in at least two of the major domains, for technical content in curriculum of the PVO-TTT, PVO-A, PPTSC, and FMANCC. Additionally, provides engineering and technical assistance concerning Fleet activities in support of reactor and propulsion plant maintenance.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide highly effective training and engineering support to Fleet personnel for nuclear and propulsion plant maintenance planning and execution.
- Serve as a lead Subject Matter Expert (SME) in curriculum of QAOC and RCMC.
- Support the development of technical production and radiological training programs for corporate activities and provide technical guidance and support to lower-level employees.
- Provide highly effective radiological engineering project support and detailed theoretical and practical training for the Corporate Radiological and Nuclear Training Branch and its customers.
- Serve as a lead SME in at least two of the major domains, for technical content in curriculum of the PVO-TTT, PVO-A, PPTSC, and FMANCC.

You must be a US Citizen, be able to gain a Security Clearance, pass a background check, and potentially pass a drug screening. This position is on location at Norfolk Naval Shipyard in Portsmouth, VA.
