Operations Specialist

This SkillBridge opportunity provides transitioning service members with hands-on, on-the-job training designed to bridge military leadership experience into a civilian corporate operations environment. Participants will gain broad exposure to how a multi-function organization operates, while developing the strategic, analytical, and people-management skills required for long-term success in corporate leadership roles.Through structured mentorship and real-world application, service members will learn how operational decisions impact safety, compliance, financial performance, and customer service across the organization. The program emphasizes understanding the “why” behind business processes not just execution—so participants can contribute to sustainable improvements and informed decision-making.

ABOUT THE JOB

The role is designed to oversee and optimize operational processes across multiple business functions, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and safety. Key responsibilities include: Business Operations Oversight: Understand and manage workflows across sales, yard, fleet, and facility operations. Fleet & Safety Management: Implement and monitor safety protocols, DOT compliance, and driver performance standards. Process Improvement: Review, document, and standardize operational processes to enhance efficiency and reduce risk. Purchasing & Inventory Control: Manage procurement procedures, vendor relationships, and inventory accuracy through preparation and execution. Payroll & Reporting: Ensure accurate payroll processing and compliance with labor regulations, while maintaining clear reporting standards. Facility Maintenance: Oversee maintenance schedules, safety measures, and facility upkeep. Leadership & Communication: Collaborate with managers, subject matter experts, and executive leadership to align operations with company goals.
