Maintenance Mechanic - Job Training Program - On the Job Training (OJT)

The Maintenance Mechanic at Seneca Foods is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide variety of industrial machinery used in food processing and packaging operations. Equipment includes conveyor systems, pumps, motors, gearboxes, canning and labeling machinery, boilers, and auxiliary systems. This position requires mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting capabilities, as well as a strong commitment to safety and preventive maintenance practices. Maintenance Mechanics play a key role in ensuring the uptime and efficiency of production lines.

ABOUT THE JOB

The Maintenance Mechanic at Seneca Foods is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide variety of industrial machinery used in food processing and packaging operations. Equipment includes conveyor systems, pumps, motors, gearboxes, canning and labeling machinery, boilers, and auxiliary systems. This position requires mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting capabilities, as well as a strong commitment to safety and preventive maintenance practices. Maintenance Mechanics play a key role in ensuring the uptime and efficiency of production lines.Essential Functions, Responsibilities and Job Duties:• Assist with overhauling and repairs as needed• Ability to operate equipment and tools in a safe manner• Assist in welding and using a torch cutter• Install, replace and adjust chains, sprockets, shakers, motors, drives & gearheads• Maintains all records, charts, and logs accurately• Cut, form, and assemble parts to construct machinery and equipment• Inspect and test machinery and equipment• Oil and grease equipment as needed• Assist in developing and maintaining a regular maintenance schedule for equipment• Requisition repair parts and supplies as needed

RESPONSIBILITIES✨
