Motorcycle Technician - Motorcycle Technician
This SkillBridge program provides hands-on training for transitioning service members interested in becoming motorcycle technicians. Participants will gain practical, real-world experience working with motorcycles through structured on-the-job training. The program is designed to build technical skills in diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of motorcycles, preparing graduates for direct entry into the powersports and motorcycle service industry. Training is delivered in-person at our Georgia location and runs for 17 weeks.
ABOUT THE JOB
As a Motorcycle Technician Trainee, participants will learn to perform routine maintenance, mechanical diagnostics, and repairs on a variety of motorcycle makes and models. Instruction emphasizes safety, precision, and professional service standards.Key skills taught include:Conducting inspections and preventive maintenanceTroubleshooting and repairing engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systemsUsing diagnostic tools and service manualsSupporting shop operations including parts management and customer serviceGraduates of the program will be well-positioned for employment as entry-level motorcycle technicians, service writers, or shop assistants in dealerships, repair facilities, or independent shops.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform routine maintenance on motorcycles
- Conduct mechanical diagnostics
- Repair a variety of motorcycle makes and models
- Conduct inspections and preventive maintenance
- Troubleshoot and repair engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems
- Use diagnostic tools and service manuals
- Support shop operations including parts management and customer service
