The Java Programmer SkillBridge program prepares transitioning service members for entry-level software development and programming roles. Participants receive structured instruction in Java programming fundamentals, object-oriented programming concepts, database integration, application development, and software testing aligned with industry standards. This program emphasizes hands-on coding, problem-solving, and professional development skills needed to support modern software development teams.
As an entry-level Java Programmer, graduates may support software development teams by assisting with the design, development, testing, and maintenance of Java-based applications. Typical duties include writing and debugging code, maintaining application documentation, supporting database interactions, and collaborating with developers, analysts, and IT professionals to implement software solutions. Graduates are prepared for roles such as junior software developer, Java developer trainee, application support programmer, or software development assistant.
