MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESAs an intern with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Office of Trade, Trade Intelligence Division, you will support the Intelligence Enterprise (IE) and play a vital role in assisting with the research, review, and evaluation of information and intelligence crucial to border security operations. You will help analyze data and trends related to trade enforcement, illicit trade practices, and trade-based financial crimes.Under supervision, you will help prepare and organize intelligence materials that support CBP’s broader efforts to address a range of threats including trade-based money laundering (TBML), transshipment, forced labor, intellectual property rights (IPR), and other trade issues. Your work will directly contribute to the development of comprehensive intelligence products that inform and enhance the decision-making capabilities of CBP personnel involved in trade operations and enforcement.Duties of the Position:The incumbent in this position is responsible for applying a full range of analytical knowledge, skills, and abilities towards supporting the Commissioner’s Priority Trade Issues.Produce appropriate analyses, reports, and briefing materials to keep senior management informed about trade-related initiatives.Execute analysis and evaluation of large volumes of sensitive and complex information in support of strategic, operational, and tactical support of enforcement actions across CBP Office of Trade mission sets.
