As a Medford District BLM Park Ranger, you would support the Bureau of Land Management's recreation program primarily at the Smullin Visitor Center and Rogue River Permit Office. The Smullin Visitor Center is located on the banks of the picturesque Rogue River.
You would work directly with the public. You would be trained to issue Rogue River Recreation permits, organize daily lists of Rogue River permit holders and patrol recreation sites. You would be trained to answer questions about The Rogue River Wild and Scenic section. Specifically, you will be trained to answer questions about river camping, river safety, bear safety, river environmental protection and questions about River Permit acquisition and payment. Attention to detail, a positive attitude, and the ability to work well with the public and colleagues are essential. This is primarily an indoor position with some outdoor duties.
U.S. Citizenship is required. Appointment will be subject to a favorably adjudicated background / suitability investigation / determination.
