Industrial Workforce Program Trainee - Construction Laborer - will learn Technical Construction Skillsfor 12-weeks. Our students work through a program centered around the NCCER Core curriculum, gaining exposure and training in a wide range of technical construction skills, and non-technical employment skills critical for any line of workFundamentals of Construction: Residential Construction (framing to finishing), Welding, Power Industry Fundamentals, Heavy Equipment Operations, OSHA 10Non-technical skills - Over the 12 weeks, our students work are trained on essential non-technical skills which they can carry into any line of work: Financial literacy, Professional Workplace Skills, Job Application Coaching, Group Discussion Skills, Critical thinking
ABOUT THE JOB
IWP Trainee, will be trained as an entry level general construction worker: Residential Construction, Heavy Equipment Operations, and other basic skill sets. Successful and dedicated graduates of the Program will be considered for employment with the Southwest Indian Foundation or helped with job placement in the Gallup community and surrounding area.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Learn and perform basic construction tasks under the Industrial Workforce Program
- Participate in training sessions centered around the NCCER Core curriculum
- Gain exposure to a wide range of technical construction skills
QUALIFICATIONS
- Interest in the construction field
- Willingness to work in the specified geographic location
ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY
Preference for candidates with interest in the construction field and interested in the Geographic Location.
