In this position, the intern will provide project support and hands-on assistance in construction project management activities within Naval Surface Warfare Center Port Hueneme Division code 102. The internship is designed to prepare the intern for a future role as a Construction Project Manager by providing practical experience and foundational knowledge in construction management, project planning, quality control, safety, and coordination with multiple stakeholders. The program spans 120 days and emphasizes real-world application, professionalism development, and leadership skills essential to managing construction projects in a government environment.
The Construction Project Manager intern, under the guidance of experienced project managers, will the development and tracking of project schedules, coordinate tasks with the project teams, and monitor progress to ensure milestones are met. Key responsibilities includes assisting with project planning and execution, supporting quality control and safety compliance efforts, participating in budget tracking and project estimation activities, and coordinating communication with NAVFAC, tenant command, and internal stakeholders. The intern will gain exposure to government construction processes and standards, ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
