ABOUT THE JOB

Maritime Institute is a provider of professional maritime training with primary training centers located in San Diego, CA and Norfolk, VA, and satellite locations in Honolulu, HI; Everett, WA; Piti, GU; and Alameda, CA. We provide over 100 deck and engineering USCG and STCW approved courses for initial endorsement and career enhancing upgrade training. Our expert staff of instructors provides a combination of unequaled teaching techniques with cutting-edge simulation technology and “hands-on” training systems. Instructors spend 20 – 40 hours a week teaching in a state-of-the-art facility to personnel with various experience levels in the industry. There is classroom instruction, coupled with the use of mechanical and electrical training laboratories, full mission capable simulators.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Teaching 20 – 40 hours a week in a state-of-the-art facility
• Providing classroom instruction
• Utilizing mechanical and electrical training laboratories
• Operating full mission capable simulators

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be approved by the Coast Guard according to the requirements in NVIC 03/14
• Specific experience requirements for each course
• Experience at sea in deck or engineering positions

ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY

All instructors must be approved by the Coast Guard according to the requirements in NVIC 03/14 and applicable laws and regulations. There are no at-sea recency requirements; however, there are specific experience requirements for each course. Contact the POC for additional details.
